Shopping
Take time to slow down and just think. Come where the trees whistle in the wind and the streams run
clear and where shopping for all your holiday needs is a joy. Find one-of-a-kind antiques at Still Meadow or Rose Hill Antiques in Accord. Barking Dog and Cat House Antiques in High Falls offer quirky treasures, as well. Old Brick House Antiques in Kerhonkson offers slightly unusual collectibles and home accents. The
Mezzanine Antique Center in the Rondout Waterfront District in
Kingston offers 3500 square feet of
vintage goodies. Stoneridge Antique Center is filled with treasures to feather your
nest. After shopping, relax with some hot cider in one of our chalets, spend
some quality time with family, friends and a Monopoly board or a jigsaw puzzle. Return home relaxed and ready
for the season ahead.
Cross-Country Skiing
With its 22,500 acres of cliffs, summits and plateaus, Minneswaska
State Park Preserve is the uncut gem of the Palisades Interstate Park
system. Its sapphire lakes, lapidary cliffs, panoramic views, and forests of dwarf pitch pine and oak occupy the
high ground along the crest of the dramatic Shawangunk escarpment. Minnewaska – and the Shawangunks
Ridge – serves our recreation needs. More than 250,000 visitors come each year to recreate and learn about the Shawangunks at Minnewaska State Park Preserve. Cross-country ski trails are groomed and open for cross-country skiing only.
Local Spirits
TheTuthilltown Spirits Team brings the craft of small batch
spirits distilling back to New York. Tuthilltown whiskeys are the first
and only legally distilled and aged grain spirits produced in New York
since Prohibition. Products include seven whiskeys and two vodkas from local apples. Tasting room
and store on premises. Tours weekends by appointment only. There are several area breweries offering hoppy ales. In Kingston enjoy the patio at Skytop Steakhouse & Brewing Company, some live music with your draft at Keegan Ales or the energy of a packed bar at the Gilded Otter in New Paltz.
